چکیده

We consider the excitation of water in the Photon Dominated Region (PDR) S140. With the use of a three-dimensional escape probability method we compute the level populations of ortho-and para-H 2 O up to ∼ 350 K (i.e., 8 levels), as well as line intensities for various transitions. Homogeneous and inhomogeneous models are presented with densities of 10 4 – 10 5 cm −3 and the differences between the resulting intensities are displayed. Density, temperature, and abundance distributions inside the cloud are computed with the use of a self-consistent physi-chemical (in)homogeneous model in order to reproduce the line intensities observed with SWAS, and to make predictions for various lines that HIFI will probe in the future. Line intensities vary from ∼ 10 −13 erg cm −2 s −1 sr −1 to a few times 10 −6 erg cm −2 s −1 sr −1. We can reproduce the intensity for the 1 10 → 1 01 line observed by the SWAS satellite. It is found that the 2 12 → 1 01 line is the strongest, whereas the 3 12 → 2 21 line is the weakest, in all the models. It is found that the 1 10 → 1 01 line probes the total column, while higher excitation lines probe the higher density gas (e.g., clumps).

The Impact of Nano-Sized Gold Particles on the Target Dose Enhancement Based on Photon Beams Using by Monte Carlo Method

Objective(s): In this study we evaluate the impact of the different aspects of Gold Nano-Particles (GNPs) on the target absorptive Dose Enhancement Factor (DEF) during external targeted radiotherapy with photon beams ranging from kilovolt to megavolt energies using Monte Carlo simulation. Methods: We have simulated the interaction of photon beams wi...

An Update of Couch Effect on the Attenuation of Megavoltage Radiotherapy Beam and the Variation of Absorbed Dose in the Build-up Region

Purpose: Fiber carbon is the most common material used in treating couch as it causes less beam attenuation than other materials. Beam attenuation replaces build-up region, reduces skin-sparing effect and causes target volume under dosage. In this study, we aimed to evaluate beam attenuation and variation of build-up region in 550 TxT radiotherapy couch.Materials and Methods: In this study, we ...

EEDF MEASUREMENTS AND EXCITATION PROCESSES IN THE VICINITY OF A HELIUM DISCHARGE CONSTRICTION

Axial distributions of plasma and floating potentials, electron number density and the electron energy distribution function (EEDF) have been measured in the double layer (DL) region of an He discharge constriction. Excitation processes in the constriction region are studied. Using a linearization method for the nonstationary balance equations and choosing appropriate discharge conditions, ...

Investigation of surface and buildup region doses for 6 MV high energy photon beams in the presence of a thermoplastic mask

Background: The accuracy and the reproducibility of radiotherapy can be provided by using immobilization devices such as thermoplastic masks. In head and neck cancer radiotherapy, the patients are mostly immobilized by using thermoplastic masks. In this study, the effect of the thermoplastic mask to the surface and buildup region doses was investigated by using Markus parallel plate ion chamber...

Verification of the PAGAT polymer gel dosimeter by photon beams using magnetic resonance imaging

Background: In this work investigation of the normoxic PAGAT polymer gel dosimeter such as sensitivity, the R2-dose response with post time and the percentage depth dose (PDD) of PAGAT polymer gel dosimeter have been undertaken. Materials and Methods: Using MRI, the formulation to give the maximum change in the transverse relaxation rate R2 was determined to be 4.5% N,N'-methylenbis- ...
